Eel River Shoreline Trends Report –
Coastal Dune Vulnerability Study
After conceiving a project concept to study/predict the likely effects of changes in wave energy on dune and shoreline formation resulting from climate change, we found that great minds think alike – and our grant proposal closely mirrored another by a federal agency. The funder instructed us to combine efforts. The resulting Shoreline Trends Report was our contribution to the funded study. Acted as project manager workign with a GIS spatial analyst and coastal geomorphologist to assess historical shoreline movement trends. (As GHD)
Trees in Stormwater BMPs
Concerned with the long term implications to the urban streetscape of standardized bioretention cell BMPs, performed a review of the benefits and issues with integrating street trees into BMP designs. Worked with GHD engineering teammates and client, the Council for Watershed Health, to develop a proposal for consideration of an alternate bioretention cell design that could incorporate street trees with native soil.
